Your success is not a matter of idle chance, it’s a matter of making
the right choices.
Success is not something you wait for, but rather something you’ll
achieve with effort.

In other words, things won’t turn up in this world until you turn them up.

Success is neither magical nor mysterious.
The people that truly succeed in the world are the people who look
for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them,
they make them.

Don’t sit on the sidelines, get in the game.
Your access to success has no real limits.

The great opportunity in your life is where you are right now.
Every situation, properly perceived, becomes an opportunity for you.

There are grand opportunities all around you.
Open your eyes, and you will find one.

If you have the desire, you have the power to be successful.
Taking continuous action is all that is required.

Are You Renting or Buying?

Do you rent or do you own? And is it working for you?
How many years have you been renting? How many years
have you been working toward ownership and buying? No,
I’m not talking about housing – I’m talking about your life.

You either rent your life or you buy it. When you rent your
life you exchange the same amount of money every month
with a landlord – a boss. And you agree to make wealth for
that boss, that business owner; in exchange for your effort,
your work, your insight, your brilliance; and you build no
equity, no future for yourself, that’s the agreement.

When you choose to buy your life, say with a home-based business,
you make a down payment (investment) and then you make an
installment of 20-30 hours a month. You can make bigger
installments and pay your life off earlier if you like. You can be on
the 3-5 year plan, or the 5-10 year plan, either one. But
neither one of those compares to renting your life for 40
years with no equity to show for it when you get to the end.

I decided to buy my life rather than to rent it. Who do
you know who’s still renting their life. Most people, if you
ask them, would rather buy than rent. It just makes more
sense. Why would someone buy their home and rent their
life? Most people have never heard of such a notion. Work
a job and rent your life – or buy your life. It’s really a no brainer.

Are you ready to buy your life? This FREE CD by Robert Kiyosaki, author
of “Rich Dad Poor Dad” will show you the way.

Do you have a great looking squeeze page but no one is opting in? The goal of this article is to provide different methods to help you drive traffic to your web page.

1. Blogging: Post an informative article about your niche. There should be an opt in box or link to your squeeze page. When you give great information, people will go to your squeeze page to learn more about you, if you display the link prominently. You can place an opt-in box at the top of your page and have people opt in to your list that way.

2. Article Directories: This is another great way to provide value. When you provide information that people want or need, they’re quite likely to follow the link to your landing page if the link is in your author’s resource box. If your information addresses their needs, they will want more information.

3. Videos: Video marketing has become a very popular maketing method. Simply make a short video about your niche. If you offer great information or can be funny or amusing, your video will become viral all over the Web. Be sure to include the URL to your list building page so that people can locate your site.

4. Paid Ezine Ads: The first three traffic methods were free. We will now move on to paid methods. You can find ezines in your niche and place ads in them that lead to your squeeze page. Simply do an online search (Google, Yahoo, etc.) for a keyword related to your niche. You can also check the top sites to see if they have newsletters or ezines where you might be able to place your ad. Another good idea is to sign up for one of the ezine directories to determine the level of quality. It is very important to choose an ezine or newsletter that relates to your niche and has a large subscriber base.

5. Pay-per-Click: This is one of the best ways to generate traffic to your squeeze page. However, it is absolutely necessary to study this method carefully as it can be expensive if you don’t use it effectively. Use Google AdWords or another pay-per-click service to send traffic to your landing page. Just be sure to set a daily spending limit or you could wind up with a large expense at the end of the month. Determine what you’re willing to spend and then, come up with some keyword- rich ads that will entice people to click through to your squeeze page.

Using these five methods of traffic generation will definitely get the traffic you want to your squeeze page, but there are many other techniques you can try, as well. The right training and mentoring will help you learn different methods and chose the right one for you.

The idea is that you have to get started. Traffic doesn’t just happen. You have to go out and get it.

While we all love the beauty of a clean and sparkling house, most of us don’t know that we’re using extremely toxic materials to clean our homes.

In addition to causing headaches and irritating allergies, these cleaning products can greatly effect your personal health.

Do you know……….

- The U.S. EPA found that the air inside our homes is on average two to five times more polluted than the air outside.

- According to the Clean Water Fund, the average American uses 40 pounds of toxic cleaning products, throwing away 12 percent of their leftovers in landfills and pouring a total of 32 million pounds down the drain.

- Since World War II, 80,000 chemicals have been developed to protect our pesticides, cleaners, plastics, personal care products and industrial products.

- Many common cleaners contain neurotoxins, depress the nervous system and threaten the healthy function of the liver and kidneys.

When toxic cleaning products are disposed of in landfills, the chemicals they contain can seep into groundwater. Cleaning chemicals that are disposed of in our drains also end up in our water system and others drift from the air of our homes into the air outside.

- The toxins in our water systems activate metals causing algae blooms and penetrating the fatty tissues of wildlife, seeping into their endocrine systems.

- Cleaning products produce eight percent of non-vehicular volatile organic compounds (VOCs), leading to air pollution, smog formation, asthma and the inhibition of plant growth.

There are chemical toxins in in dishwasher detergents, upholstery and carpet shampoo, antibacterial cleaners, oven cleaners, air fresheners, tile, tub and toilet cleaners.

When you use green cleaning products, you help reduce the presence of these harmful toxins in our ecosystems. You are also protecting your health and your family while cleaning your home.

One of the easiest ways to be a good environmental citizen is to reduce, or cut back, in key areas of your life. Three of the most important resources you can reduce your consumption of are:

- Energy
- Water
- Solid waste

Here’s a quick breakdown of how reducing affects these areas:

Energy
Energy is generated and consumed with most activities, and it often results in releasing carbon into the environment. In addition, there is a finite amount of energy available from traditional (non-renewable) methods such as coal and oil. Developing alternative, renewable energies (such as solar, wind and geothermal) helps to reduce our dependence on non-renewable resources to power our lives.

Water
Water covers 71 percent of the Earth’s surface, but relatively little is suitable for consumption. In many parts of the world, drinkable water is in very short supply. Every time a drop of water goes down the drain, it becomes unsuitable for consumption unless properly treated.

Solid Waste
There is only so much room available for solid waste disposal, and because landfills are so tightly packed, it takes a great deal of time for material to decompose. The easiest way to reduce solid waste is to reduce your consumption of daily products. Be cautious of what you buy, and whether anything you are going to put in a trash can really belongs there.

Health Hazards Associated with Household Cleaners

Recent research findings suggest that manufacturers of household cleaners have too much freedom in the way they formulate the products we use in our homes. In fact, studies on many of the ingredients commonly used in household products conclude that these chemicals can be unsafe and could have long term health consequences. Could it be that some of these chemicals might actually be contributing to the significant rise in serious health conditions such as asthma that have occurred in recent years? In this post, we’ll explore the increasing exposures to dangerous chemicals in household products, especially for children. We’ll also present research linking household chemicals to asthma and list other health risks associated with cleaning product exposures. Finally we’ll provide some basic advice for seeking alternative products that are truly safe and effective for you and your family.

Children are at Greater Risk for Chemical Exposures

Let’s start with the risks that chemicals in household cleaners present to children. It’s no secret that children are highly vulnerable to chemical toxins. Children spend a good deal of time putting things in their mouths so there is always the potential for ingestion of chemical residues. Pound for pound, children drink more water, eat more food and breathe more air than adults. The implication here is that children will have substantially heavier exposures than adults to toxins in water, food, or air. And yet, so many of the popular and most trusted brands of household cleaners continue to include harsh chemicals in their formulations.

Since a baby’s immune system and metabolic pathways are immature, this affects their ability to metabolize, detoxify and excrete chemicals and counteract toxic challenges. In an adult, a blood-brain barrier insulates the brain from many of the potentially harmful chemicals circulating through the body. But in an infant, that barrier isn’t fully developed so early exposures may be especially risky.

Children also have more time to develop chronic diseases triggered by early chemical exposures. Some diseases related to environmental toxins may require decades to develop. So exposure during childhood may increase the health risks later in life. Some scientists also believe that maternal exposure to toxic chemicals during pregnancy can have developmental consequences for the fetus. Since growth is so rapid at this time, early toxic exposures may have a significant impact on further development.

Household Cleaners and Asthma Risk

In the US, the prevalence of asthma increased 75% from 1980-1994 and asthma rates in children under the age of five increased more than 160% during that same period according to the Centers for Disease Control. An average of one out of every 13 school-aged children or nine million US children under age 18 have been diagnosed with asthma. It’s the most common chronic childhood disease in the developed world and has become even more commonplace in the last three decades.

Asthma is an obstructive respiratory condition characterized by recurring attacks of wheezing, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, and an irritated cough. It’s typically triggered by hyper-reactivity to stimuli including aerosolized chemicals and allergens. About half of all initial episodes occur in persons younger than 10 years of age. An attack or asthmatic episode occurs when airways in the lungs narrow and the muscles around them contract causing bronchospasm, which is constriction of the airways.. The membranes lining the inner walls of the airways become swollen and inflamed, and the glands within these walls produce excess mucus. An asthma attack can be brief or it can last for several days.

Although there’s no cure, asthma can often be controlled by avoidance of triggers, appropriate dietary and supplement strategies and, of course, medication as prescribed. Exclusive breastfeeding is believed to be effective in reducing subsequent development of allergies and may reduce the the risk of asthma in children. Antoxidants in the diet, including vitamins C, E, and selenium found in fruits and vegetables, may have a protective effect. Probiotics are promising as they appear to protect against the development of allergies by producing changes in the bacteria in the gut that stimulate the immune system.

Recent Research Linking Cleaning Products to Asthma

Avoiding contact with environmental triggers is emerging as a critical strategy, and one area of great concern happens to be the chemicals found in household products. A study published in Thorax found that that many common household cleaners and appliances give off fumes, which can potentially increase the risk of developing asthma in children2. The authors concluded that “domestic exposure to Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) at levels even below currently accepted recommendations may increase the risk of childhood asthma.” Unfortunately, VOCs, found in many household products, may also be found in house paint, flooring, and furniture.

Research has also shown that women who are employed in domestic cleaning are at increased risk for symptoms of obstructive lung disease. One study found that 25% of the asthma cases found in over 4,500 women employed in the domestic cleaning industry could be attributed to their domestic cleaning work3. The authors conclude that domestic cleaning work has an important public health impact, probably involving not only professional cleaners but also people undertaking cleaning tasks at home.

Another recent study conducted in Spain found that household cleaning was the occupation most frequently associated with asthma4. Environmental allergens were identified as causal agents in 31% of the cases and 26% of adult-onset asthma were associated with the occupation of household cleaning, a main determinant of development of chronic symptoms.

Other Health Hazards Related to Cleaning Product Exposures

Asthma and related conditions are not the only risks associated with ingredients in commonly used household products. According to News-Medical Net at the University of California, A person who spends 15 minutes cleaning scale off shower walls could inhale three times the “acute one-hour exposure limit” for glycol-ether containing products set by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. Inhalation, ingestion, skin, or eye exposure to glycol-ethers has been linked to irritation and potential tissue damage.

Butyl cellosolve found in cleaning solutions is another potentially toxic chemical in the same glycol-ether family of chemicals and it’s found in household cleaning products including all purpose cleaners, abrasive and glass cleaners. Ingesting large amounts of cleaning agents containing butyl cellosolve may cause breathing problems, low blood pressure, low hemoglobin levels, acidic blood, and blood in the urine.

Exposure to high levels of ammonia, found in glass cleaners, may be irritating to your skin, eyes, throat, lungs and it can cause coughing and burns. Also, asthma sufferers may be more sensitive to breathing ammonia than others. Getting ammonia in your eyes can cause burns and even blindness.

A chemical known as hypochlorite, found in common household bleach, causes more poisoning exposures than any other household cleaning substance. According to a report from the Poison Control Center’s National Poisoning and Exposure Database, hypochlorite was the source of over 50,000 poisonings in 2005 alone. Automatic dishwasher detergents may also contain sodium hypochlorite and the fumes that are released in the steam can cause eye irritation.

Drain cleaners and oven cleaners are some of the most hazardous products in our homes. They may contain lye or sodium hydroxide which can cause severe corrosive damage to eyes, skin, mouth and stomach if swallowed.

One of the most dangerous cleaning products, toilet bowl cleaners, may contain chlorine or hydrochloric acid. Even brief exposure to low levels of hydrochloric acid vapor can result in throat irritation. And high exposure can result in rapid breathing, narrowing of the bronchioles, blue coloring of the skin, accumulation of fluid in the lungs, and even death.

There’s a long list of dangerous chemicals that are under most sinks in this country… they’re even in some products that claim to be green. One of the best places to find information on chemicals in household products is through the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website. That website address is www.householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov. To help build children’s awareness of potentially dangerous chemicals found throughout the house, visit the Environmental Protection Agency’sKids Home Tour at www.epa.gov/kidshometour.

Making Smart Product Choices for a Clean and Healthy Home

Now is the time to really get clean, to clear out all your traditional household products and opt for green, effective, alternative cleaning choices that will help you clean your home and still maintain a healthy home environment. Be an informed consumer and look for safe alternatives to traditional cleaning products that still offer a lot of muscle without using caustic chemicals. Seek out products that are…

• Nontoxic

• No harmful fumes

• Hypoallergenic

• No volatile organic cleaning compounds

• Formulated without hazardous chemicals such as:

-Kerosene

-Phenol

-Cresol

-Lye

-Hydrochloric acid

-Sulfuric acid

-Sulfamic acid

- Petroleum distillates

-Ammonia

-Sodium hydroxide

-Butyl cellosolve

-Phosphoric acid

-Formaldehyde

-Chlorine bleach

-Morpholine
And finally, look for a solid company with a rock solid track record of offering safe, powerful, smart, and green cleaning choices that give your family the best opportunity to live in a naturally clean and healthy home.

In 2008, an estimated 1.5 million people in the United States were diagnosed with cancer, including over 700,000 new cases in men and nearly the same number of new cases in women. There were also over 650,000 cancer deaths last
year, which ranks cancer second only to heart disease as a leading cause of death.

Cancer is caused by changes in genes that control the growth and death of cells. The disease develops when cells continue to grow and divide instead of dying off when they get older as they would normally do. As cancer cells multiply, they can damage nearby tissues and can also spread to other parts of the body and develop into new tumors. While improvements in detection, diagnosis, and treatment have increased the survival rate for many types of cancer, we also encourage doing all you can do to prevent the disease as a core strategy of your prescription for optimal health.

With prevention in mind, here are 10 things we can all do to reduce the risk of developing cancer:

1. Avoid tobacco products and second-hand smoke
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States for both men and women. Ironically, it’s also the most preventable type of cancer. Some 87-percent of lung cancer deaths are attributable to exposure to tobacco smoke including roughly 3,000 deaths each year in non-smokers due to second-hand smoke. Of the 45 million Americans who still smoke in 2007, 30-percent of male and 21-percent of female high school students reported using some form of tobacco in the prior month. If you smoke, take the necessary steps to quit for the health of you and your loved ones.

2. Achieve and maintain a healthy weight
Being overweight increases your chance of developing certain types of cancer, including cancer of the esophagus, colon and rectum, and pancreas. Obesity also increases the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women by roughly 50-percent, and endometrial cancer by about three fold. And carrying too much extra body weight is believed to account for up to 30-percent of kidney cancers in both men and women. Make smart food choices, control portion sizes, and fill up on fruits and vegetables to help manage your healthy weight and reduce your risk of cancer.

3. Get moving
The American Cancer Society recommends regular exercise as a way to prevent cancer. Regular exercise burns calories and can help you reach and maintain a healthy weight. Pick something that gets and keeps you moving like walking, hiking, cycling, swimming, team sports, and even dancing. Consider biking or walking to work, or take a walk during your lunch break. Be sure to gradually work up to 30-45 minutes of exercise a day for five or more days per week.

4. Eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
Fruits and vegetables are naturally rich in dietary antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E, and a whole family of carotenoids that may help to protect your healthy genes from oxidative damage. Recent research suggests that eating tomatoes may help to protect against developing prostate cancer, while eating cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts may help to protect against bladder cancer. Fruits and vegetables are also rich in fiber which can speed the transit of food through the digestive system and may reduce the absorption of cancercausing chemicals. So eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables may be the best way to ensure broad spectrum protection.

5. Fresh is best
Until about 20 years ago, stomach cancer was the most common cancer worldwide, perhaps due to cultural preferences for eating large amounts of salt-preserved foods such as cured meats and pickled vegetables. This finding underscores the point that when it comes to eating most foods, it’s generally best to eat fresh rather than salted, cured, or pickled. In general, the less processed the food, the healthier it will be for you.

6. Limit alcohol intake
Excess alcohol consumption is associated with increased risks of cancers of the oral cavity, throat, voice box, esophagus, liver, breast, and possibly the colon and rectum. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer diagnosed in women, and aside from carrying too much body weight, alcohol intake is the only other established risk factor for this disease. It’s recommended that men who drink alcohol should limit their intake to no more than two drinks per day, while women should limit their intake to no more than one drink daily.

7. Practice sun safety and check for changes in your skin
Ultraviolet radiation from the sun is damaging to your skin. The genetic damage it can cause to skin cells can lead to skin cancer, a disease that is increasingly common, especially among young people. Be aware that the sun’s peak time is between 10 am and 3 pm and that sunlight exposure can be intensified by up to 50-percent when reflected from sand, water, snow, ice, and concrete. When outdoors, cover up exposed areas and wear sun screen with an SPF of 15 or more. Know your skin and be aware of the location, size, and shape of moles and skin spots, and report any changes promptly to your physician.

8. Reduce your exposure to potential carcinogens
There are many substances in the environment with the potential to put you at higher risk for developing cancer. On the job, minimize your exposure to fumes, dust, solvents, and chemicals. Try to reduce your everyday exposure to potentially-toxic environmental chemicals in the home and…

• Dust and vacuum regularly to rid your home of toxins attracted to dust
• Open windows and use fresh air to freshen and minimize indoor pollution
• Filter your drinking water to remove pollutants
• Switch to green cleaning products that are safe but still powerful

9. Know your family history and get screened
Some 5-10-percent of cancers are due to a genetic predisposition to cancer. Family history is a risk factor for common types of cancer including breast, ovarian, colon, and prostate cancer. If you have a family history of cancer your physician may recommend genetic testing to see if you have the type of gene that can increase your chance of developing cancer. For individuals with an average risk of cancer, the following cancer screening guidelines are recommended:

• Breast cancer: Women should begin yearly mammograms at age 40 and conduct regular breast self exams
starting in the 20’s.
• Colon and rectal cancer: Men and women should have one or more screening tests including a colonoscopy
starting at age 50.
• Cervical cancer: All women should begin cervical cancer screening no later than 21 years of age.
• Prostate cancer: Men should have the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and digital rectal examination
annually beginning at age 50.

10. Choose your dietary supplements wisely
Whether it’s vitamin D, folic acid, calcium, the antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E, and the carotenoids, fiber, or emerging phytochemicals, nutrition surveys have made it clear that your diet is unlikely to be providing all the essential nutrients and other dietary factors you need to be at your healthiest. And dietary supplement studies have yielded compelling evidence that supplements can help to reduce the chance of developing cancer in undernourished individuals.

Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington published a study in Nutrition and Cancer1 that evaluated the association between dietary and supplemental zinc and prostate cancer in 35,242 men participating in the VITAL cohort, a study specifically designed to evaluate the impact of dietary supplements on cancer risk. In this study, long-term supplemental zinc intake was in fact associated with reduced risk of clinically relevant advanced disease.

And as reported in the Archives of Internal Medicine2, National Cancer Institute researchers found that among postmenopausal women, the greater their total calcium intake from dietary supplements and food up to about 1,300 mg per day, the lower was their risk of developing cancer. For men and women, a diet rich in calcium from supplements and food was associated with a lower risk of developing cancers of the digestive system such as colon cancer. These findings are consistent with randomized clinical trials which have shown that calcium supplementation reduces the recurrence of colon polyps, which are precursors to colon cancer.

Clearly, dietary supplements play a key role in making up the nutrient shortfalls in your diet, and they provide a means of achieving optimal nutrient levels needed to achieve and maintain the best of health.

There is no investment you’ll ever make that will pay you so well as
the effort to scatter sunshine and good cheer where ever you are.

The deepest principal in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.

If you treat someone as if they were what they ought to be and could be,
they will become what they ought to be and could be.

Everyone thrives on being appreciated, loved and needed.
There is no stimulus like that which comes from the consciousness
of knowing that others believe in you.

Applaud others when they run.
Console them when they fail.
And cheer them when they recover.

As water is to a flower, so is praise to the heart of another.
